Claire's Big Ideas: #1 - More Sidewalks

With more than 20 years of volunteer service to Summit and its nonprofit partners, I’ve seen many opportunities to make Summit even better.  Between now and Election Day, I’ll be rolling out some of these ideas–look for a new one each week.

What I hear from residents first and foremost is the need for more sidewalks.  Summit claims to be a walking city, and every child is supposed to be able to walk to school.  In reality, children living in many neighborhoods cannot do so safely.  Teens cannot safely walk to Memorial Field; adults cannot safely walk downtown.
